So I finished Mass Effect 3. While playing the game I learned that many people were outraged over the ending. I was skeptical because I didn’t finish the game and I usually want to see it myself before making any input. I finish the game and at first it didn’t bother me. I decided to destroy synthetic life and finished the game. It didn’t bother me probably because I didn’t pay full attention but did catch some things. At this point there will be some spoilers. For instance, the AI that talks to you at the end says that the reapers were created because the created (synthetic) was destroying the creators (organic). So the reapers, who are synthetic, were created to kill the organics because the synthetic organisms will destroy organic life. It didn’t make sense but again I didn’t pay full attention so I didn’t complain about it. I read some things online and the best theory that I agree with that it was a dream. Shepard is seen under some rubble and has signs of life. That kinda gives the feeling that he didn’t go to the Citadel. It also makes sense how Andersen was already at the console even though there is only one way to the console. It also makes sense that the Illusive Man was behind Shepard. The dream theory works because at the very end there is an old man and I think his grandson looking at the stars and the old man says something like “and that’s the story of Commander Shepard”. This gives me more evidence this is a dream because it appears that the whole game is a story being told from an old man to his grandson. Now I am not saying that the ending to ME3 was the greatest ending or anything like that. I am saying that people shouldn’t be totally outraged over it. It’s a video game and Bioware made what felt best for them and “their” game.
This post is not about bashing Top USA. In fact I hope the show gets better and becomes successful. As a car enthusiast and a huge fan of Top Gear UK, I really like the show. Yeah the hosts haven’t fully established a strong relationship like the UK hosts. People that hate the show are not patient and want instant results. Top Gear UK took a couple of seasons to establish itself as a show. Now the haters are hoping The Car Show with Adam Carolla to be a better show. The Car Show is a decent show but has many problems where I don’t have a lot of interest in watching it. First off it’s on Speed so I can’t watch it on TV. The format of the show isn’t really good. The first episode of the show had a pretty cool challenge but it was really short compared to any Top Gear challenge. Short being in air time, it was only like 10 minutes long compared to Top Gear where it’s 30 minutes to the full hour. The news section needs a lot of work and the relationship of the hosts are also not established either. The real reason people don’t like Top Gear USA is because it’s not Top Gear UK and so they want hosts like them but in reality it’s nearly impossible to find someone like Jeremy Clarkson. The producers of Top Gear USA chose who they thought would fit the show. I personally like the hosts that were chosen. Tanner Foust is a professional driver and is entertaining to watch him drift corners, Rutledge Wood is really funny, and Adam Ferrera is the host I wouldn’t mind getting replaced. He’s good but he’s not as entertaining as the other two hosts. Now Top Gear USA does have it’s flaws that many haters exploit so much that it’s really annoying to hear them whine. Their chemistry isn’t as good as TGUK but as I said earlier, give them time and they will get better. I watched all of season 1 and as each episode goes by I sense that their relationships got a lot better. All I am gonna say is that give the US hosts time and they will get better.
Warped Tour this year wasn’t as great as last year’s Warped Tour in my opinion. Although August Burns Red, A Day To Remember, The Devil Wears Prada and Attack Attack were gonna be there, it wasn’t enough for me to want to stay the whole time. I left pretty early and as I am writing this it’s still going on. Last year there were enough bands that I liked to keep me there. Also the weather was way too hot for me to want to stay. Last year it rained all day but at the same time it was cool and I wasn’t getting dehydrated. Last year I got to see Enter Shikari, Parkway Drive, Four Year Strong, Confide, some of Hey Monday, VersaEmerge, Emmure and a lot more. This year I didn’t see as many bands. I saw A Skylit Drive, Set Your Goals, The Word Alive, and August Burns Red. The line-up this year wasn’t as strong as last year. The headlining bands this year were way better but the rest of the bands were as strong as last year was. I just didn’t a lot of bands I wanted to see. I did wish though I could have see A Day to Remember, The Devil Wears Prada, Attack Attack and We Came As Romans but they were later in the day and I just was too hot to want to stay. Overall Warped Tour 2011 wasn’t too bad, my brother did enjoy seeing August Burns Red which made the day a pretty decent day.
Now before I get into the topic, I am a Rockets fan and it’s not the easiest thing for me to congratulate an in-state rival. The other reason I don’t like the Mavs is Mark Cuban. He’s the kind of owner that makes fans of other teams to root against them. Back to the point, congrats to the Mavs for winning, Dirk definitely deserves a championship. I can’t quite say the same to Jason Terry. He is a good player but I don’t really like his attitude problem. I prefer players who are humble and don’t rub it in on other players’ faces. The Heat were arrogant and overconfident in the finals. They should have won the series but they let the Mavs come back and win the 2 games that were crucial in their winning of the series. On a side note, I have heard about the Cavs fans rooting for the Mavericks in the finals. I understand why the Cavs were rooting for the Mavs but it doesn’t give them any reason to do it. As a Christ follower I always say love your enemies. It’s very hard to do but it is the right thing to do. Yes LeBron James left the Cavs on a bad note, but he was a professional athlete and had the right to leave the Cavs as any other player on the team does. The right thing to do is to wish LeBron good luck with the Heat instead of wising bad on him. The Mavs did deserve to win though after what LeBron said about Dirk’s sickness. I think the Heat will win another championship in the future, it’s just gonna take time.
I now know that I am gonna spend a ton of money on video games this fall. There are so many new titles coming out that I most likely will get them all. Gears of War 3, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Modern Warfare 3, Forza Motorsport 4, and possibly Halo Anniversary. Most likely though, I will buy Assassin’t Creed Revelation, Gears of War 3, and Modern Warfare 3 when they come out. The other games I will probably wait on. The next year though, Mass Effect 3 is coming out so I will most likely get that game as well. I do see a problem though, Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Modern Warfare 3 come out around the same time, just a week apart. So the problem is that I don’t know if I want to spend all that money within a week. So I most likely will have to hold off on one of the games and it’s tough because I am a big fan of Assassin’s Creed and I really like playing Call of Duty. So I will probably will try to make some money and see what I can get.
